Victor Shirima & Family

Location: Kilimanjaro Region

Victor Shirima has been one of the core guides of Winrica Adventures since the very beginning. He is a highly respected mountain guide and one of our most requested cultural tour guides—known for his knowledge, kindness, and deep pride in his work.

Victor is a husband and father of three children: Janeth (formerly known as Queen), Jennipher, and Jonathan. While Janeth is not his biological daughter, she is a child he has never given up on. After being abandoned by her birth family due to a rare bone condition, Osteogenesis Imperfecta Type 1, Victor welcomed her fully into his family.

Janeth is a full-time wheelchair user, and her condition has made access to education especially challenging. Finding schools or tutors in Tanzania equipped to support her needs has been difficult, while the cost of education for all three children continues to be a significant responsibility for the family.

Victor and his wife both work hard to provide for their children. They currently rent a home that has been made more accessible for Janeth through the support of the Hope Dealers community.

How Dealers of Hope Has Supported

  • Helped improve accessibility within the family’s home

  • Provided support toward education for the children

  • Offered ongoing stability through community support

Where They Are Now

Victor and his family continue to move forward with determination and unity. Janeth is surrounded by a family that fully supports her, and all three children are pursuing their education as the family works toward long-term stability.

What’s Next

Victor’s long-term goal is to build a small chicken farm to help sustain his family year-round—especially during low tourism seasons when income can become unpredictable.

Ongoing support helps:

  • Cover education costs for all three children

  • Support Janeth’s accessibility and care needs

  • Move toward building a sustainable income through farming
