Ways To Give

Hope In Action is how we support families in the rural villages surrounding our home in the Kilimanjaro Region of Tanzania.

The families we support are the families of our mountain guides, porters, cooks, and team members from Winrica Adventures — the very people who may have guided you up the mountain, cooked your meals, or supported your journey behind the scenes.

These are hardworking individuals who take pride in the skills they are working hard to gain. Our goal is not to create dependence, but to walk alongside families who are actively working to become the first in their families to break generational cycles of poverty.

We believe real impact begins with relationship. We stay closely connected to our communities, listening first and responding with care. These are families we know and work alongside — not anonymous recipients.

EDUCATE

Education is one of the most powerful tools for long-term change.

Your support helps provide:

Yearly school fees
Continued enrollment during times of hardship
Access to education for children whose families could not otherwise afford it

Education creates opportunity not just for one child, but for future generations.

ENCOURAGE

Encouragement bridges the gap between survival and possibility.

We encourage families to:

Take pride in the skills they are working hard to gain
Envision a future beyond immediate hardship
Believe that progress, though not always linear, is achievable

Encouragement reinforces dignity, resilience, and hope.

EMPOWER

Empowerment means providing support in ways that strengthen — not replace — family effort.

Through our Family Sponsorship Program, donors may support a specific family as they work toward goals that may not be easily attainable without support.

HOW YOUR DONATION CAN BE USED

When donating, you may designate how your gift is used.

If no designation is selected, funds will be applied where the need is greatest.

EDUCATION FUND

Supports:

School fees for children
Keeping children enrolled during financial hardship

If you are sponsoring a family, donations to the Education Fund go directly to that specific family.

HEALTH AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE

Supports:

Emergency surgeries
Medical treatment and care
Health-related crises when families have no other options

These needs are often unexpected and urgent.

FAMILY SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

Allows donors to support a specific family.

Support may include:

Education costs
Emergency medical or household needs
Ongoing support during times of hardship

Please specify the family name in your donation notes.

Family sponsors may be contacted if emergency needs arise, to see if and how they are able to help. There is never an obligation — only an invitation.
