Dealers of Hope Foundation Tanzania works alongside local communities, families, schools, nonprofit partners and supporters to create opportunities that respond to real needs and build toward long-term change. Our work continues to grow, but every initiative begins the same way: by listening to the people who live here and building relationships that last.

Mshiri Village
Mshiri Village is where Dealers of Hope Foundation Tanzania began, and our connection to this community is deeply personal. Winford, our co-founder, grew up here, and many of the mountain crew members we work alongside still live in Mshiri and are raising their families here. Long before there were projects or fundraising goals, there were relationships.
Those relationships continue to guide the work we do today. What began by supporting individual families has grown into a broader commitment to the community, including helping children access education and healthcare and investing in Mshiri Primary School. As the work grows, we want to remain rooted in the reason it started: listening to the people we know and love, understanding the needs they identify, and working alongside the community to create lasting change.
Mshiri Primary School + Climb for Hope
Mshiri Primary School has become one of our largest ongoing initiatives in the village. Our work there is focused on creating a safer, healthier and more supportive environment for children to learn, while working directly with school leadership to understand what is needed most.
In 2026, our partnership with Teddy Bear Crawl Foundation through Climb for Hope helped turn several of those needs into real change. Together, we have supported school uniforms, supplies, new desks, sports equipment, technology for the school, scholarships for 41 children, and breakfast and lunch for students each school day. We also completed major renovations to the Standard 7 classroom.
Climb for Hope will continue each September, bringing nonprofit partners and supporters from the United States to Tanzania to experience Kilimanjaro while becoming part of meaningful work at Mshiri Primary School. The partners and specific projects may change from year to year, but the purpose remains the same: build on what has already been accomplished and continue responding to the school's most important needs.
What’s Next: Protecting the Progress
With the Standard 7 classroom renovated and back in use, our next priority is protecting the progress that has already been made. The school’s aging roof is deteriorating and leaking, including into areas that have already been renovated.
The current contractor estimate to renovate the roof and replace the failing iron-sheet roofing is $14,200. Completing this project will help protect the classrooms, equipment and improvements already serving the children at Mshiri Primary School.
This isn’t about starting another project. It’s about protecting what we’ve already built together.
Winrica Village
Winrica Village is a long-term vision already in motion—being built step by step to create jobs, opportunity, and a space where community and impact come together.
Located along the road to Mount Kilimanjaro, Winrica Village represents a growing vision for community-driven opportunity.
This initiative focuses on creating sustainable income through local businesses, job creation, and future projects that support both residents and visiting travelers.

Through our partnership with a local Maasai community, we are working toward providing access to clean water—an essential need that impacts health, education, and daily life.
This initiative focuses on creating sustainable solutions that improve quality of life while honoring the traditions and culture of the Maasai people.
