Amina Stevens & Icram
Location: Kilimanjaro Region
Icram is six years old and the youngest of four children. He is being raised by his mother, Amina, who has worked hard to support her family despite limited access to education herself.
Despite facing ongoing health challenges, Icram recently completed his second year of primary school with the second highest grades out of 26 students—a remarkable achievement, especially considering the many days he has missed due to hospitalizations.
Icram’s older siblings currently attend boarding school through support from another local program. However, due to his severe respiratory condition and frequent medical needs, Icram is unable to attend boarding school and requires a more flexible and supportive learning environment.
